Application Process

Applications are not considered complete until all application materials are received (including the application deposit).  Once all of the application pieces are checked (refer to the Progress Meter at the top of the page) and the application deadline and/or decision date has passed, applications will be reviewed. Students will be notified by the Study Away Office through their hawk.iit.edu email. 


After students are Accepted, students will have until the Commitment Deadline to log back into their application to Commit to their program. Students will then have access to the next set of requirements for the Committed stage of their application.

Illinois Tech Abroad Application

  • Click the Apply Now button at the top of the program page of your chosen program 
  • Complete your application including the submission of the $250 Application Deposit 
  • Submit your online application by the deadline
  • Receive an email notification when your application is Accepted
  • Log back in to Commit to your program by the Commitment Deadline 

 

 

​Illinois Tech Abroad Application

  • Click the Apply Now button at the top of the program page of your chosen program 
  • Complete your application including the submission of the $250 Application Deposit 
  • Submit your online application by the deadline

Exchange Nomination

  • Receive a notification of application status through your hawk.iit.edu email within two weeks after the application deadline
  • If you are accepted by the Illinois Tech Study Abroad Office, we will nominate you to the host university

Host University Application

  • Complete your host university application by their application deadline

Host University Acceptance

  • Upload a copy of your host university acceptance letter to your application

Host Program Application

  • Complete your host university/program application by their application deadline

Host Program Acceptance

  • Upload a copy of your host university/program acceptance letter to your application

  • Once you have decided on a provider program and have begun the provider's application, register your program with Illinois Tech here
  • Complete your Illinois Tech application including the submission of the $250 Application Deposit 
  • Submit your online application by the deadline
  • Receive an email notification when your application is Accepted
  • Log back in to Commit to your program by the Commitment Deadline

Program Provider Application

  • Complete your program provider application by their application deadline

Program Provider Acceptance

  • Upload a copy of your program acceptance letter to your Illinois Tech application
